About the role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and empathic Divisional Therapist to join our collaborative and friendly Glengara Care team. This role is an integral part of developing RetireAustralia’s sense of community and placing our residents at the centre of everything we do. Reporting to the Manager Care you will be responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating innovative social activities that sustain and enhance our residents quality of life whilst promoting independence. This role is required Monday to Friday on a part time basis. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, prepare and facilitate the delivery of lifestyle and recreational activities for all residents; liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Engage and communicate arrangements with residents, families, colleagues and management to ensure activities effectively meet resident needs
  • Document and report ongoing resident progress based on resident participation to relevant Care Manager, Case Manager or RN ensuring any identified changes in care needs are raised
  • Liaise with appropriate allied health professionals in the development of new and appropriate activities
  • Develop annual activities program within the allocated budget
  • Ensuring and monitoring a safe workplace and reporting any OH&S issues identified

About you

You will have a friendly and positive attitude with a real desire to contribute to the lives of others. You will have a background in a similar Divisional Therapist or Lifestyle role ideally within the retirement sector. You will hold a relevant qualification e.g. Cert IV Leisure and Lifestyle and must have a current First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate and a valid National Police Check.
